About Us

We provide education and training to the international trade community in Ireland. We have been established since 1953 and are the longest running supplier of training programmes to help people develop business to and from overseas

Globalisation places severe demands on companies to adapt their strategies and systems to changing situations in technology, in supply-chain management, in communications and in intercultural business relationships.

These factors require those of us working in Ireland to improve our skills in order to operate in an international environment. The Institute is also committed to offering this training to students and professionals from around the world.

A well-educated and flexible workforce has fuelled the unprecedented growth in Irish exports during the last decade. Furthermore, within the euro zone and globally, barriers to trade continue to fall and the competitiveness of our products and services has become crucial. In such a context, it is essential for all those involved to have access to flexible education and training.

The IITI has two main objectives:

1. to encourage and foster the highest professional standards among professionals in international trade;
2. to undertake, encourage and promote the study of the policy and practice of international trade in all its aspects.
