Its unimaginable thought matching Volvo’s FH Prime as its takes on the world first mega-car (The Koenigsegg One: 1) of a track.

Well, no more assumption as this is exactly what Volvo Trucks (The Volvo FH ) has done for purposes of highlighting the company’s virtues including its all new I-Shift Dual Clutch through efforts proudly shared on Volvo’s social media campaign published on their YouTube Channel on November 11th 2014.

Here is how it all went down…

Renowned British car journalist Tiff Needell was invited to take the wheel of a Volvo FH 4×2 on Swedish circuit (Knutstorp) and made the attempt of completing a single lap round the circuit beating the Koenigsegg One: 1. the latter was in the hands of their own test team driver.

Can The Two Really Compete?

Well as you would assume automatically this is a match that shouldn’t be in place in the first place, you will be shocked to find out that statistics tell a story that will come as a shocker to you! Let us look at the stats sheets of the two vehicles.

According to paperwork; The Volvo FH is created to produce a cool 540hp and 2600 Newton Meters of Torque. Get this, the truck weighs in at around 8 tonnes.

According to paper work also; The Koenigsegg One: 1 produces a staggering 1360hp and 1371 Newton Meters of Torque and weighs in at 1360 kilograms. These are figures that make this car instantly the world’s first series produced super car

The company (Koenigsegg) calls this gar mega-car suggesting that it is the only car with a one to one kilogram to horse power ratio.

As you can see from the specs, the Volvo is actually a cleverly dressed commercial truck that is the first in it league to offer dual-clutch transmission. Tiff Needell exclaims that its gear box (The Volvo’s) is more like the gear box in the Koenigsegg.

In his own words, the British journalist (Tiff Needell) goes on and one about how the Volvo’s new gearbox makes it possible for seamless shifting eliminating dramatic hill starts. Check out Van Trader for a range of trucks and vans available.

Are There Any Similarities of The Two Vehicles?

The similarity between the Koenigsegg One: 1 and the Volvo FH truck that comes custom fit with a I-Shift Dual Clutch includes, driveability which comes through the seamless gear shifting. The similarity was evident in the Knutstorp race circuit located in Southern Sweden.

The track is well known/recognized due to its demanding turns, and the hilly terrain which is known to make many a car work extra hard to go round. Fortunately, the circuit was no match to the Volvo FH truck which drove on it smoothly without any struggle.

The million dollar question is whether the Volvo Track was a match to the Koenigsegg One: 1 and the answer is… NO, obviously the mega-car (fire breathing by the way) destroyed the track completely, however this doesn’t mean that the Truck was no match as it too was a force to reckon with. Other Truck Manufacturers of 7.5 tonne lorries will no doubt be entering the race soon so keep your eye out for new new entries in this market.
